Right now, 1.1 billion people on the planet don't have access to clean, safe, drinking water. That's one in six of us!!! Dirty water causes 80% of all sickness and disease and kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
I want to change that.
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Americas after Haiti. Half the people live on less than a dollar a day. Only 1 n 5 households have electricity. Think about that.
I have the privilege to go on the first ever Nicaragua clean water trip this summer! AND YOU CAN HELP!
My trip is through Liquid Water and runs from June 29th to July 6th. Our Team partners with local organizations to bring clean water to villages who need it most. Liquid Church has completed over 50 wells and water projects serving over 20,000 people. Praise God!
Bringing clean water to those who need it in Jesus's name is close to the community at Liquid Church. Over the last 4 years Liquid has donated over $700,00 to the Clean Water Cause.
Nicaragua is a deeper level of service for our church. This first team that I will be apart of will spearhead a W.A.S.H project. Stands for Water Access Sanitation Hygiene. A clean water well is the first step. We will construct latrines, teach locals hand washing and what germs are. This 3 pronged approach will reduce the numbers of deaths caused by diarrheal diseases by an average of 65%! WOW !
