On a saturday in March 2012 my luck finally ran out. I ended up in the hospital with a concussion suffered on a fall off my bicycle. The memory of that day is lost to me, but I am certain I hit some road hazard becuase I did not see it in time. With my bad central vision things come up on me too fast when riding. After an internet search I have discovered the Blind Stokers Club here in San Diego. Now with my partner and pilot Kevn Knapp I can still ride all over the place and not worry about seeing the road ahead. I can pedal on the back of the tandem and enjoy bike riding again.
Kevin and I will be riding in the Cycling For Sight event this year; our third year. It is a 2 day tour and fundraiser for the San Diego Center for the Blind. If you are able to support me in this endeavor please consider a donation; any amount is appreciated.
