Dear Friends,
 
I am very happy and proud to let you know that I have been selected by Photographers Without Borders (PWB) as a photographer to document the good work being done by the Ghana Health and Education Initiative (GHEI) in Humjibre, in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District in the Western Region of Ghana.
 
My photos will be used to build awareness of the development challenges faced by the children and residents of Humjibre, and the impressive work being done by GHEI to address these gaps and to empower the community.
 
GHEI addresses the challenges of rural development by delivering programs on female education and empowerment, malaria prevention, and personal hygiene awareness.  For more information on GHEI's programs and their outcomes please check out their website at: www.ghei.org.
 

A core element of PWB's mission involves supporting small charities and NGOs worldwide through the use of photography and visual media as a platform for raising awareness about development needs and highlighting the important work being carried out by these local organizations.  PWB offers its services free of charge to these organizations.  To learn more about PWB, please check out their website at:

I'm trying to raise enough funds to make this project a success for the girls, boys, and residents of Humjibre.  I will be taking on this project for free and not charging any fees for my photography.  Your donations will go towards helping cover project-related expenses (including my airfare, room and board with a host family, and other logistical expenses). 
 

The funds that will be raised over and above these expenses will be distributed to both GHEI, to help them continue supporting the development needs of Humjibre, and to PWB, to help them with their operational costs so that they can continue supporting small charities and NGOs that need assistance.

 

ABOUT ME

I am a freelance photographer with a natural curiosity for learning more about human nature.  Also, I've recently become interested in how various art forms can be used for healing, expressing, and connecting.  I hope that the stories I capture can promote better understanding and harmony amongst us, as well as dispel some of the misconceptions we have of others.  Beyond these labels, we share so many similiarties and a common goodness.
