Team Freedom Marathon

Over the course of the last 4 months, Team Freedom has been busy training for our next Campaign for Freedom!  Together we had so much fun training and preparing for our 188 mile Cycling for Captives ride last summer that we knew we needed a new adventure to train and look forward to in 2015. Thus was born the idea of completing our first marathon together. And now after nearly 350 training miles pounded out together, we are ready to participate in our next freedom adventure on January 18, 2015.  Together we will complete the 26.2 miles of the Carlsbad, California Marathon.  It is sure to be an adventure and it will push our bodies to their capacity. 

On January 18, 2015 we will Run for Freedom! 26.2 miles of joy and pain will course through our bodies.  And as we run, we run for freedom because we deeply value human life and believe every person deserves their freedom. Did you know that today there are an estimated 27 million people held in slavery globally?  Even one person held in slavery is too many! We are passionate and committed to raising awareness about the existence of modern day slavery and to raising funds to support the fight against human trafficking. We are combining our love of training and relationship with our passion to fight human trafficking.  We are endeavoring to raise $100 for every mile we run to be used in direct support of rescuing victims of human trafficking.

In this pursuit, we are partnering with a non-profit organization that is already working to bring freedom to victims of human trafficking and 100% of the money we are hoping to raise will be used to rescue as many victims of human trafficking as possible. This organization is Rescue:Freedom International.
