As some of you may know, we are leading a team of high school students to Uganda this summer, July 4-23. We're very excited about this opportunity and would love to partner with you in this endeavor.
Our team will be traveling to the tropical country of Uganda, an eastern African nation, located to the west of Kenya. We will be working alongside missionaries, Damon and Jen Cupp and Sufficiency of Scripture (SOS) Ministries to serve in churches, schools, and orphanages doing outreach in the village of Kubamitwe. We will have opportunities to share the good news of salvation with students as well as local village children. Biblical teaching and training will be one of the goals of the trip. There will be opportunities to work in orphanages and hospitals as well as participate in construction projects for a local church.
Would you please commit to pray for us? First of all, please pray for the Ugandan pastors currently in training, that their hearts will be transformed by the Word of God. Secondly, please pray that the Lord will prepare hearts to receive the truth of the gospel—that they will see their need for salvation through Jesus Christ. Pray also that the Ugandans who know Christ will grow in their walks with Him, and that the hearts of the Ugandans will be protected from the many false teachers who have bombarded this vulnerable country. Lastly, please pray that we will bless and encourage the Cupp family who will be hosting us in their home. We desire to conduct ourselves wisely and lovingly in order that Christ would be seen through us.
We are well aware that the success of this trip is dependent on the Lord and your prayer support. Along with your prayers, if you would like to partner with us financially, we would gladly receive it. If the Lord moves you to give to our trip, your tax-deductible donation will go toward covering the costs of the trip, which is about $3,300 per person. For us, $700 is due March 7th, $2,000 more April 3rd, and $3,900 more June 20th. There are multiple ways to donate.
