All are welcome to run or walk in the North Texas 2nd Annual RACE AGAINST THE ODDS on Saturday, November 8, 2014, in Highland Village, TX. The race is run in memory of our Angel, Sydney Reece Bjornberg.

Sydney was a healthy, vibrant, beautiful and smart girl. She was so very kind, silly, fun, and caring with a HUGE heart for animals. Syd loved being in the kitchen, cooking, baking and decorating all sorts of delights. This Taylor Swift-loving, 11-year-old girl had a great sense of humor and a LOVE for life and laughter.  

Sydney was so active. She loved to run, swim, jump on the trampoline, play with her little brother and ride her bicycle. Her favorite activity of all was skiing! She would fly down ANY slope on the mountain at Wolf Creek Ski Resort in Colorado.  

Just one week prior to her 5th grade graduation, May 21, 2012, Sydney was diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor.  Our world forever changed in that instant.

Children deserve MORE THAN 4% of funding for cancer research!  Children with cancer Race Against the Odds for their lives and need us to join the fight on their behalf. All funds raised during this event will help fund pediatric brain cancer research through The Cure Starts Now Foundation in search of a “homerun” cure for cancer.
