Why I'm involved:
- This organization is doing great things to help some seriously marginalized children.
- I believe every child has unique value and if I can do something to help even just one, I will.
- It's provided me with an opportunity to get personally, emotionally and spiritually involved in something bigger than my everyday.
- If I had to title this chapter of my life it would be 'Pursuing Purpose'. I want to find purpose and meaning in everything I do, not just some things.
- Besides hanging out with my family, I can't think of anything cooler to spend my free time doing. The people that I've met and get to work with are inspiring, encouraging and generally dripping in awesomeness. They live here, they run this project as volunteers. Their goal is to leave a legacy. How cool is that? Imagine if we all had a vision and the strength and determination to pursue it wholeheartedly. I think it's amazing. I'm so blessed to be in on the fringe.
My number.... $3,101:
- A friend made a page, and picked a number with meaning behind it. I liked it. I'm copying. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
- 3,101. A 5K is 3.1 miles long. I think this goal is a hundred times loftier than running a 5K. The extra dollar? It's like the extra push-up, the extra sprint, the extra birthday spank.....it's one to grow on. There should always be one to grow on.
