Giving to Carolina Cups

Founded in 2009, Carolina Cups is a non-profit charitable foundation, whose sole mission is raising money, spreading knowledge and fostering hope in the fight against breast cancer. Working with regional affiliates, we fund free mammograms, support breast cancer research programs, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle. 

Striking one in eight women in the United States, South Carolina has one of the highest death rates from breast cancer in the country. However, with early detection, the five-year survival rate is 98%. Seventy-five cents of every dollar raised by Carolina Cups remains in the Lowcountry; the other quarter is donated to breast cancer research and grant programs throughout the Southeast.

LoCo Motion, Carolina Cups’ signature fundraiser, is a unique three-day walking and running event carefully orchestrated to appeal to all fitness levels. Held annually in the fall, the race covers 30 miles over the course of three days at premier Lowcountry locations. Last year’s inaugural event attracted pink-clad participants from 17 states and raised over $63,000.

Our goal in 2012 is to double that. And with your help, we can do it.
