Ethiopian Orphan Care

Ethiopia is at the center of a global orphan crisis. As one of the poorest and disease-afflicted countries in the world, hundreds of new orphans are being created each day. “Orphan-headed households” exist in most communities, where children are raising themselves without much hope for rescue.

But Food for the Hungry, through a partnership with Grace Covenant Church in Austin, Texas, and the local Zeway churches, is working to change that for the orphans in one community, Zeway.

More than 150 orphans and dying widows are now being supported by FH social workers who are providing them food, clothing, health care, educational materials, grief and loss counseling, spiritual guidance, and much more. You can learn more and meet some of these children at www.hopeinethiopia.org.
