Hi! We're Caleb and Emily James. Thanks for visiting our page! We are preparing to embark upon an exciting adventure together as volunteers at Hands and Feet Children's Village in Jacmel, Haiti. Upon visiting for the first time for two weeks in July 2012, we were almost instantly captured by the warm people, rich culture, and stunning natural beauty of Haiti. We were first drawn to the orphans who have so little but yet are so filled with joy. We found ourselves dreaming of ways we could help these incredible kids grow into their full potential to reclaim and rebuild a better Haiti. But we also felt a connection to the staff that left the United States behind to give themselves completely to the vision of Hands and Feet. We began to feel a calling to do more to support them and their efforts. Traveling back to Hands and Feet this past June only solidified our desire to spend a longer period of time serving there and immersing ourselves in all that is Haiti. After a lot of prayer, we have decided to return to Haiti for 2 months this winter. We are currently raising support to cover our travel and living expenses while in Haiti, and it would mean the world to us if you would consider sponsoring us. We would be honored to share in this adventure with you.
"This is the true joy of life. The being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment. And I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it onto future generations." - George Bernard Shaw
