Dear friends,
I will be climbing Ishinca (18,143'), Urus (17,800'), Copa (20,301'), Mt. Rainier (14,409'), Mt. Aconcagua (22,841', highest in South America), and Denali (20,320', highest in North America) in loving memory of my mothers, Wang-Ming Chang and Teresa Dodd. Both their lives were taken by cancer. I hate cancer more than anything and raising money to fund a genius researcher is the best revenge I can imagine.
I am not alone in my feelings about the disease. In 2012, cancer killed over 575,000 of us. People who were loving grandparents, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, coworkers, friends…
These mountains represent the arduous climb that cancer sufferers undertake after they are diagnosed. While medical care is much advanced and people are living more quality lives even with the disease, I believe that we can fight and ultimately win. Unlike my mother and my mother in law, I will win by scaling these summits.
Would you help me help the researchers who just might be able to offer that to cancer sufferers in the future? My goal is to raise $25,000 so SC and my family will have the funds to review and select a researcher. 100% of the proceeds will go to a researcher’s project.
My attack plan is Peru in June 2016, Rainier in September 2016, Aconcagua in January 2017, and then Denali in June 2017.
